  जानवर मुझे छोटे बच्चे जैसे लगने लगे हैं. उन में ज़्यादा बुद्धि नहीं है, सो इनोसेंट भी लगते हैं. मेरा लगाव-झुकाव पशु-पक्षियों की तरफ बढ़ता ही जा रहा है. सोचता हूँ, मैंने आज तक इस नज़र से क्यों नहीं देखा दुनिया को कि जानवर हमारे छोटे भाई-बहन जैसे हैं, हमारे छोटे से-प्यारे से मित्र हैं. और मैं शाकाहार-माँसाहार की बकवास में भी नहीं पड़ता, जिसे जो खाना हो खाओ, जो कहना है कहो. मैं जिन्हे दोस्त समझता हूँ उन्हें मार के लाशें नहीं खा सकता उन की. बाकी अनजाने में मेरे अस्तित्व मात्र से यदि कोई जानवर मर रहा है तो इसे कुदरत का निजाम-प्रकृति का विधान समझ के स्वीकार कर लेता हूँ. प्यारे जानवरों की लाशें खाने के लिए तर्क का हथियार नहीं बनाता. बात सिर्फ चॉइस की है.
